Ethan's painting

This is a painting that Ethan (3 years old) did on Tuesday evening. He managed not to get any paint on his clothes, but I took some pink from three feet away . . . Thought I would include this as evidence that work is taking place in the studio, even if it isn't me. 

Here's the 'pattern piece' that I have been looking at for the past couple of weeks. Just one more layer of clear, and it is finished and going to the office to hang. 

Here's a detail, sorry for the lack of focus, I need to bring the tripod out at some point. So, with this piece I was attempting to work in a similar manner to the way I approach my sketchbooks, so there are several layers of text, context and texture . . . The word "speak" comes from a sketch in the most recent book.
