new project

With this piece I am currently exploring the marks that I make indirectly.
These pages have spent 24 hours on the garage floor under my 1980 F-150. The marks are a result of a oil dripping off of the engine block. As this exploration continues I am planning to possibly include information on each of the pages, perhaps mileage on the odometer along with the price of a barrel of oil from each day that the particular page was created . .

a few more spreads 2/15

These two images fall into the spreads posted the other day, but for some reason they were bumped in the upload . . . so here they are.
This piece may have been in reaction to Banksy's work and his rat imagery, regardless it is good advice.
This was cut to tag my recycling bin where the cans go.

spreads

I was feeling a bit guilty about not posting, so here are some more pages. Again, these will eventually go up on the bogzilla site, but this is a sneak peek!

six spreads

These are the first six pages of the next book that would be uploaded to the bogzilla.com library. You might notice that each contains an animal drawing -- that seems like a theme . . . but it will not last.

not a book project

I was advised at the residency not to come back as a painter, so what better to kick things off than a 30x45" painting. This is a textural exploration that consists of gloss paint forming a pattern and matte paint over the top in a 'color-field' (weak Rothko knock off -- not my intention).

I am intrigued  by the subtle visual texture and variation within surface finish.

while in boston

Here are some pages from the time at AIB. Most of the text heavy pages are notes from Critical Theory 1.
